For undergraduate researchers, science writing supports the construction of new scientific understanding and gives students the opportunity to articulate their thinking as they engage in the science practices during an investigation. Each objective in this Scientific Writing module is designed to increase undergraduate researchers’ knowledge about the key concepts that underpin scholarly communications in STEM-related fields. Scientific writing is part of academic writing skills and communication skills expected all science researchers. These skills develop gradually during the course of your studies through writing, reading, listening, having discussions, giving and receiving feedback as well as through reflecting on your own skills.
