The (AUC) Atlanta University Consortium, established in 1929 by John Hope, President of Morehouse College and Atlanta University (now Clark Atlanta University), is a collaborative effort among four historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) located in southwest Atlanta, Georgia: Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, and the Morehouse School of Medicine.
Recognized as the oldest and largest consortium of Black higher education institutions in the United States, the AUC Consortium fosters an environment where students can benefit from a diverse collegiate experience through cross-registration opportunities across member institutions. Additionally, the consortium offers shared resources such as the Robert W. Woodruff Library, a dual-degree engineering program, career planning and placement services, and the AUC Data Science Initiative.
