Zotero: How to get Started

Like Endnote, Zotero is a free bibliographic management tool. It works within your Firefox browser (or as a stand-alone client) to help you collect, manage, and cite your research sources.

Installing Zotero

1. Download Zotero here: https://www.zotero.org/download/

2. After you have installed Zotero, you can then download the Zotero Browser Connector from the same download page: <https://www.zotero.org/download/.

3. The Zotero installation should also install the Microsoft Word Zotero plug-in automatically. If you have Word, you can open it to see the Zotero tab that has been added to it.

4. For quick help on getting started with Zotero, see these links:

MS Word Add - In/Plug In

Word processor plugins allow you to insert citations and bibliographies directly into your documents. Installing them is optional but highly recommended.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL Word toolbars. They are included with Zotero Standalone.
