DSD Equipment

Flatbed Scanners: 

  • We have several flatbed scanners for digitizing photographic prints, negatives and slides; small-to-midsize documents; and other 2D media

    • Epson Expression 10000XL photo scanner

    • Epson Expression 11000XL photo scanner

    • Epson Expression 12000XL photo scanner

Planetary Scanners: 

  • When digitizing bound materials, documents, and oversized materials (maps, posters, etc.) we have two Bookeye IV Planetary Scanners.

Large Format Photography

  • If an item is too big for the planetary scanners, we are able to photograph it for access and digital preservation.

                                             

ATOM Phase One Digital Camera system

  • The newest addition to the lab is the DT Atom Phase One Digital Camera system.  It is a table-top digitization platform that can adapt to nearly any material type.  This camera performs high quality digitization of bound materials, film, loose material and objects, and more.

AudioVisual Reformatting

  • We can digitize audiovisual materials in-house using our VHS and audio cassette decks

  • We capture a digital copy of the audio or visual track, then clean up any “noise” in the playback
