AUC Woodruff Library’s Digital Services Department (DSD) has over ten years of experience in developing digital programs, services and collections that expand access to primary resource collections, promote the scholarship of the AUC community and preserve digital collections through the use of traditional and emerging technologies. Digital Services provides leadership and support for the evolving digital curation needs of the Library, including:
Digitization and Reformatting: Selection, prioritizing and preparing materials for digitization in collaboration with archivists and librarians. Digitizes collection materials in all formats, creates derivatives for access, exhibition, and preservation.
Metadata and Description: Creates and compiles descriptive, technical and preservation metadata and documentation for digitized archival collections, institutional scholarship, and born digital materials.
Repository Management: Ingest, management, and administration of open source and vendor content management systems employed by the library for access and preservation of digital content.
Digital Publishing Support: Provides training, support, and hosting of open access scholarly content produced by AUC faculty, staff, and students including theses and dissertations, articles, journals, data, and open educational resources.
Long Term Digital Preservation: Leads planning and implementation of policies, workflows, and systems for ensuring the long-term availability of digital content.
