Course Reserves - 2024 Spring Semester

The Library will be open during the 2024 Spring Semester (January 17 - May 10). Faculty are welcome to use the Library’s electronic course reserves  option. Under this option, the Library will search its collection for a digital version (e-book, book chapter, journal article, streaming video, etc.) of the requested course reserve materials and provide you links to digital versions of the materials which can be embedded in your course site. Placing print items on Course Reserves is also an option.

Unfortunately, not all requested course materials will have a digital version available at the Library. In these cases, the Library will do a fair use assessment to determine if a portion of your requested course materials can be made available through digitization.  The Library is generally willing to scan a single chapter from a book or a single article from a journal issue as a presumptively fair use. Please contact your Subject Librarian to make arrangements or for additional assistance.

Students may access items placed on course reserves by logging in to their Library account and clicking on the Course Reserves link.

Renewing Materials

Library materials may be renewed twice if a "hold" has not been placed on the item. Items must be renewed on or before the due date. Materials cannot be renewed if they have been placed on hold by another patron, if the borrower has a delinquent Interlibrary Loan item(s), or if any other outstanding fees are due to the Library. As a courtesy, overdue notices are sent to borrowers after the loan period has expired. Users are responsible for all fines and fees whether or not a notice is received. Materials that have a "Hold" placed on them or have been renewed twice online must be returned to the Library by using the book return bin located on the front steps of the building, or handing them in at the Circulation Desk.
