Languages

Primarily in English. Students in need of resources in other languages may access them by requesting them via Interlibrary Loan.

Chronological Coverage

The chronological coverage of the Business Collection is broad and extremely comprehensive.

Geographical Coverage

The business collection focuses on both national and international economics, business conditions, business practices, global trade, emerging markets and international securities trading.

Scope

The business collection supports the curricula of the business programs of CAU, MH and SC in the study of management, finance, economics, industry and related fields. The collection includes extensive reference resources and a wide variety of financial, economic, marketing and business news databases many of which are web-delivered and may be accessed on or off campus by authorized RWWL users.

III. Types of Materials and Formats Collected

The business collection includes monographs, serials, periodicals and electronic databases. The monographs include business guides, handbooks, dictionaries and directories. The serials include business encyclopedias, indexes and abstracts. Preference is on electronic format. Exceptions are made if certain works are obtainable in only print.

IV. Collection Strengths and Weaknesses

Coverage is generally robust, ranging from the fundamental to the specific. Efforts are made regularly to obtain monographic works that are current. Faculty are always given opportunity to offer purchase recommendations. Scholarly articles are available in any of the publisher online libraries or aggregator databases that the Library subscribes to. Articles that are not accessible through the Library should be requested through the Interlibrary Loan service.

V. Standard Inclusions and Exclusions

No textbooks, especially teacher editions, are purchased due to the frequency of superseding editions.
